Private Group Surf Lesson

What’s it all about?

Private Group surfing lessons are designed for groups who want to learn to surf without other people being in their lesson. Basically, you get our fabulous team all to yourself! Whether you are a total beginner or have experienced surfing before, our private group surfing lessons can be designed around you. Lessons last for two hours so plenty of time to catch waves, have loads of fun and see who can get the biggest wipeout!

Our instructors will kit everyone out in cosey winter wetsuits and bring you through the surf lesson from scratch.

Lessons are £45 per person and they include your private tuition and equipment (surfboard, wetsuit and accessories).

As well as teaching the technique and skill of surfing we also place a great emphasis on safety and water awareness. All our surf lessons are tailored towards your individual level of surfing.

What do I need to bring?

A towel, swimwear, sun cream if it is sunny (please be sunny!) and yourself!

Lesson Layout

• Upon arrival, a helpful team member will welcome you to Alive Adventures and check you into our online booking system.
• Next, you will be kitted out with a warm, cosy winter wetsuit and depending on the time of year boots and gloves.
• The surfing lesson kicks off with an introduction to your lead instructor who will give an assessment of surf conditions and begin the safety talk before heading to the beach, only a one minute walk away!
• Our team will then invite you for a short warm-up on Portrush’s stunning West Bay Beach.
• Once you have had a warm-up and a light stretch the lesson begins with some ‘on beach’ tuition including were to lie on your surfboard and how to catch a wave.
• Next it is time to hit the surf and catch some waves!
• Our surfing instructors will be on hand for tips, advice and maybe the odd chuckle at some awesome wipeouts!
